By focusing on medical research and education, the Searchlighters are helping Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital stay one step ahead. The Searchlighters provide funding for cutting edge research and for training superb doctors today, so that better and more effective treatments will be in place for children tomorrow.
The purpose of the Searchlighters is the charitable works of fostering interest in the field of orthopaedics, including research and education, and of actively supporting projects involved in this field. The motto of the group is "Searchlighters - Lighting the way to the future."
Members live throughout the Los Angeles area and the Orange County area, and meetings are held monthly in members' homes, with two meetings a year held at Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. The annual fundraising event is a garden wine tasting typically held in the spring. The event venue alternates from LA County to Orange County every other year.
