Planned Giving helps you make a gift that will provide the greatest financial benefit to you, to your family and to Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital, now and for generations to come.
LAOH depends on the goodwill and generosity of our community to sustain and build programs that:
- Provide access to quality pediatric orthopaedic care regardless of a family's ability to pay
- Advance care worldwide for all patients with musculoskeletal disorders through cutting-edge scientific research
- Educate the next generation of orthopaedic practitioners and researchers
By making a planned gift, you can protect and preserve assets acquired during your lifetime while at the same time ensuring that LAOH continues to have vital therapeutic impact, locally and globally, well into the future. In fact, a planned gift to LAOH may help you make a much larger contribution than you ever thought possible.
There are many easy giving options from which you can choose, from naming LAOH as a beneficiary in your will or living trust to a life-income arrangement.
Planned Giving is a term commonly used to describe a wide variety of giving vehicles that allow you to give to charity during and/or after your lifetime, while meeting your current income needs and providing for your heirs.
From a donor's perspective, planned giving is attractive for many reasons. For example, it may allow you to make a larger gift than you ever thought possible. Depending on how a planned gift is set up, it may also let you receive a stream of income for life, earn more than your current investments, or reduce your capital gains taxes.
Planned gifts can be either revocable or irrevocable. With a revocable gift - such as a bequest in your will or living trust - you can change your mind at any time. With an irrevocable gift, you transfer an asset today and usually receive immediate income tax deductions or income, while the charity receives the actual benefit of your gift (asset) later - often after your lifetime.
Planned gifts are about planning for the future - your future and the brighter futures of the children and adults served by LAOH.
