Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital Awarded Kaiser Community Benefits Grant For Pediatric Fracture Clinics
LOS ANGELES – January 8, 2010 – Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital (LAOH), a world leader in pediatric orthopaedic treatment, research, and education for nearly a century, recently received a grant of $80,000 from the Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Grants Program in support of the hospital’s pediatric fracture clinics.

Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital proudly partners with Kaiser Permanente to provide a weekly fracture clinic at our Outpatient Medical Center. Patients seeking care are seen by Kaiser residents and fellows, who are supervised by Kaiser attending physicians. The Kaiser Fracture Clinic serves two vital purposes: first, it reduces the wait time for patients in need of timely fracture care and second, it provides critical medical education for Kaiser physicians, increasing prompt access to care for children with fractures.

“This ongoing partnership ensures that LAOH’s patients receive the quality care they need in the most timely fashion, while also helping train the orthopaedic physicians of tomorrow,” said Mickie Faris, Vice-President of Advancement, Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. “We are so thankful for the generosity of the Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit Program.”

Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital treats more children with traumatic orthopaedic injuries than any other pediatric orthopaedic center in the country.
