LOS ANGELES, May 19, 2011-- Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital, a world leader in pediatric orthopaedic treatment, research and education, has added several new members to its Board of Directors and Board of Trustees.
Meyer Luskin, a former member of the Board of Trustees, has been appointed to the Board of Directors. Joining the Board of Trustees are Jack R. Borsting, Ph.D., formerly a Director; Amy D’Ambra; Farrell Foley; Joan Prestine and Ruth J. Wagner.
“Our new board members have the talent and commitment necessary to help us continue our dedication to the mission,” said Dr. James V. Luck, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. “Their leadership is critical as we continue to improve care for people with all types of orthopaedic problems through patient care, research and education.”
Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital draws on its Board of Directors and Board of Trustees for leadership and support of the institution and its programs. Comprised of leading members of the greater Los Angeles business and professional communities, the boards have been instrumental in guiding the organization through its expansion of services, including the opening of the Renee and Meyer Luskin Children’s Clinic in Santa Monica, the Orthopaedic Hospital Research Center located in Westwood on the UCLA campus, and the new Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center and Orthopaedic Hospital scheduled to open this fall.
“Members who bring diverse and specific backgrounds and talents allow us to make great strategic decisions,” said Michael Lombardi, chairman of the board of directors or Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital. “Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital is the future of orthopaedic care. Continuing to provide critical services well into the next century will take careful planning, continued financial support and strategic partnerships.”
